Update from Milton Springers regarding Covid-19 virus impact on programming, including Summer Camp
Hello Springer Families!
We want to update on information that we have received from governments regarding the community efforts to control the spread of Covid-19 and how it impacts our programs here at Springers.
It has been announced that the Town of Milton will not be running their scheduled summer camp programs as a result of Government of Ontario and public health directives. Springers therefore, must sadly announce that our summer camp program will also be cancelled in its current form. Refunds will be offered to those that are registered. We appreciate patience and understanding as we go through this process. July will be processed first, followed by August. If members wish to leave credits on file for future programming to help with the club's cash flow, it is greatly appreciated.
If and when a new day camp program can be created that meets government guidelines, we hope to provide an advance registration to those that were registered in our current camps before opening to the public. The new format will initially focus on Youth camp (ages 7 to 12yrs) and if possible, add junior camp ages later. Kinder Camp is cancelled for this summer and will hopefully be back next season.
We know that so many of our kids are missing gymnastics and their coaches. Of course, our coaches are feeling lost without their kiddos too! We are exploring ways to offer a series of virtual classes led by our Springer coaches! Stay tuned for more information soon.
Some of you may have seen gymnastics listed as one of the individual sports that has been announced for return to training in Phase 1 of the province’s reopening plans. Gymnastics Ontario has been working diligently with the government to establish guidelines for clubs that can permit competitive athletes to return to the gym and train with their specialized equipment. Should Springers be granted the ability to reopen under this phase 1 plan, it will only apply to those that are registered in the competitive area of our sport. This could happen as early as the beginning of June if we are granted the permission to access the facility. Recreation programming and summer camps will fall under later phases, yet to be determined.
Thank you to those that are participating in the Springer online challenges and activities, as well as those who are sending messages of support & encouragement. It warms our heart to know how much Springers means to our Milton community. Please continue following us on Facebook and Instagram and showing your #SpringerPride!
We look forward to when government regulations can allow for the opening of our gym. In the meantime, stay strong, stay healthy, stay safe!
We do not have access to our club phones, but will checking our email (email@example.com) regularly if you have any questions. We will also continue to post all updates here on our website (www.miltonspringers.ca).
